Though unassuming tourists typically think of Hong Kong as an urban jungle of skyscrapers and lights, roughly 40% of the island is actually semi-rural and nearly pristine. As someone who loves plants, animals and all things nature, the spectacular hiking trails, sandy beaches and wild monkeys are no doubt my absolute favorite things about my home city.
